Both second and third graders took part in project based learning before spring break. In teams, the kids researched simple machines and presented their machine info to the class. Next, the teams designed a new playground for Lake Prairie that needed to incorporate simple machines. They drew wonderful maps complete with map keys. They also wrote a description for each piece of playground equipment. The best part was presenting their maps to Miss Patton. Who knows, maybe one of their designs will actually be used one day!
